Micro hydropower turbine generator running and maintenance-inspection before commissioning

1. Test should be carried out after concrete solidification when your micro water turbine generator have been installed. First to clear the site and remove all irrelevant clutter and garbage, specially to clear the obstruction on the channels and trash rack, everything obstacles like wood, stone, tools and garbage around the rotating units of your micro hydro turbine, pressure pipe, valve.
2. Checking and be sure all bolts are tight; especially the anchor bolt and the wire connecting bolt of junction box from the hydro generator control panel.
3. Checking whether the lubrication grease meet the requirement. Checking whether the bearing lubrication oil can meet the requirement
4. Turning the flywheel of your micro water turbine by hand to see whether the main shaft rotation of your turbine generator are on good condition.
5. For newly installed micro hydro generator, people should measure the insulation resistance before commissioning (note: for semiconductor generator excitation device, excitation device should be off before measuring). Insulation resistance of the shell to stator winding of generator and exciter should not be less than 1 megohm under the room temperature environment; Insulation resistance of the shell and Exciter rotor of generator should be not less than 0.5 megohm. If insulation resistance value cannot meet the above requirements, people can make the generator drying process. of course turbine generator from HS Dynamic Energy have been tested fully before delivery.
6. For brush excitation type micro hydro generator, people should check whether the brush pressure are appropriate, brush holder are firm, slip ring surface are clean, brush connection are in good condition.
7. Checking whether any object fall into the internal of the micro hydro generator.
8. Checking whether the wiring connection is correct and firm in the generator and the control panel. Especially be sure the current transformer secondary coil circuit can’t be opened.
9. Open and close the automatic air switch or knife switch to check the contacts are in good condition.
10. Checking the switchboard, generators, lightning arrester, transformer casing and other ground connection needed units is connected to the grounding device and be sure these earth wire connection are firm.
