Micro hydroelectric turbine series- Micro Pelton turbine / Micro impulse turbine
Micro pelton turbine or micro impulse turbine is mainly composed of turbine nozzles, turbine wheel or runner, supporting housing part, and jet deflector.
- Turbine runner or wheel
The micro pelton turbine runner is consists of two parts, wheel and bucket. There is Integral casting type, also will be bolts connection between the wheel and buckets or welding connection type. The shape of the bucket looks like the connection with two half spoon, middle part with sharp edge for water jet, making the water shot on the bucket go along the inner surface to scatter away easily; it will obtain the good hydraulic effect by this way. Pelton Turbine buckets has a gap cutting-edge at the top side, the shape and size of the gap should keep effectively use of water jet energy.
- Pelton Turbine nozzles
Nozzle consists of two parts, spray nozzle body and the needle, it has two main functions:
- to form a solid water jet with optimal direction toward the Pelton turbine buckets from your pressure water pipes;
- Using the needle to regulate the water flow jet, so that to control the hydroelectric generator output. It is actually act as governor system. The nozzle body generally in cast iron or cast steel casting. The nozzle body head is easy to wear for long time use, so a replaceable stainless steel nozzle body bushing will be a choice. Injection needles with streamline cone usually made of stainless steel. Nozzle body have guide frame connected with the pressure tube, in order to eliminate vortex flow by water turn between the tube and nozzle body, and it also support the injection needle bar with guide shaft. Regularly checking can prevent the straw and wood debris blocking the guide frame and nozzle.
Nozzle normally just equipped with one set, when the flow is larger, you can increase the number of nozzles.
Hydroelectric Pelton turbine is used for high head and small flow power plant.
