Vibration of hydro generator

The causes of your hydropower generator vibration? How to deal with?

1. The micro hydro generator rotor is not coincidence with the micro turbine shaft center.

Processing: readjust the installation level, making the generator shaft in accordance with the micro turbine shaft, during the installation process can avoid the happening of this kind of situation. HS Dynamic Energy provided the micro hydro generator system is mainly the turbine and generator assembled together system; you don’t need to worry about this problem, turbine and generator will be installed and fixed already, and tested already before delivery.

2. Loosened bolts, or the foundation is not solid enough, uneven settlement.

Processing: tighten bolts, reinforcing the foundation, to install your micro hydropower turbine and generator again.

3. The shaft bending or shaft journal or conjunction is not round.

Processing: to check the shaft bending or out of round condition of the shaft journal, try to straighten it, if not work, replace it.

4. The circuit breaks of your micro hydroelectric generator rotor excitation winding part, or grounding line or connection line with errors.

Processing: check the insulation condition of slip ring and the rotor excitation winding part; the dc voltmeter method can be used to inspect the system during the unit operation, and then try to eliminate the problem.

5. The stator winding is on short-circuited or grounded.

Processing: stop the running system; check your hydropower generator stator windings and the related lines.

6. Asynchronous parallel operation of your micro hydro generator and the Grid.

Processing: if the vibration is too large, system should be stopped and break from the Grid, and check your hydrogen at once, this can be personal synchronization error; it can be also the reason of the Grid vibration, in this kind of condition, try to increase the excitation current to increase the reactive MVA, so that to create the synchronization condition.

7. Parts failure or a lightning strike of micro hydro generator.

Processing: if the vibration time is too long, it is necessary to stop the machine immediately to check.
